Can I sign up for a personal account?

Yes! You don’t need a formal business structure. Just pick “Sole Proprietor” when signing up.

Which types of cards can I accept?

You can accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. American Express processing may be added during sign-up. Amex quotes rates separately. Their rates vary by industry, region, and volume.

Are there setup, minimum processing, annual, etc. fees?

No. We don’t have application, sign-up, setup, or handling fees. We also don’t have minimum processing, annual, mobile, leasing, PCI compliance, address verification (AVS), or batch header fees.

Are there any other fees?

Visa, MasterCard, and the other payment brands may charge additional fees beyond the per-transaction interchange fee. These fees will be passed through directly on your statement. Examples include Assessment Fees, International Assessment and Processing Fees, Network Access and Acquirer Program Support Fees, Misuse of Authorization Fees, Visa Debit and Prepaid Integrity Fees, and Fixed Acquirer Network Fees.

What’s a chargeback?

A chargeback occurs when the cardholder disputes a charge that was made through your account. The chargeback fee is $30. Learn more about chargebacks.

How will I receive money?

We deposit directly to the bank account you specify within 2–3 business days of a transaction.

Am I locked in to a contract?

No, you can cancel any time. There is no lock-in and no termination penalty.

Why does the transaction percentage vary?

Interchange fees are charged by tiers: 1.74% qualified, 2.49% mid-qualified, and 3.79% non-qualified. Learn more about transaction tiers.

How will I be billed?

Your bank account will be debited directly by two of our partners: Authorize.Net and Merchant Focus.

Is there better pricing for high volume?

Yes. If you’re processing over $250,000 annually, please call 1-888-922-8277 for special pricing.

Do you offer special rates for non-profits?

Yes. Take a look at our special non-profit pricing.

Can I sign up if I live in Canada?

Because credit card processing differs by country, we offer a separate plan if you’re processing in Canada. Visit our Canadian pricing for more details.

Do I need my credit card to start the trial?

No. You can try Credit Card Terminal for free for 30 days. If you’d like to continue using it, we’ll let you know how to update your billing information before your trial ends.

Do I need to contact my provider before starting?

No. While each provider requires slightly different account information, we’ll give you the right steps to connect your processing account to your Inner Fence account.

Can I use a card reader with my provider?

Yes, you can use our card reader accessory with any of the providers. When possible, Credit Card Terminal will provide additional card data to obtain lower processing rates.

What providers are supported?

Authorize.Net, Beanstream, Bluefin, BluePay, Braintree, Element Express, Gateway.io, MerchantWARE, NMI, PayPal Website Payments Pro, Pin Payments, Stripe, USA ePay, and Verifi.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can change plans at any time.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. If you find that Credit Card Terminal isn’t right for your business, you can choose to cancel at any time.

Is there a contract?

No. Plans are billed month to month.

What types of payment do you accept?

We support Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. The types of cards you can accept are determined by your account provider.
